Octave Technology Taps Jeff Thorn to Lead Product Development

Ellicott City, MD - August 14, 2003 - Octave Technology (www.octavetech.com) has announced that they have hired Jeff Thorn as the Director of Product Development.

In this newly created position, Mr. Thorn will be responsible for leading technical product development and applications architecture. Mr. Thorn comes to Octave Technology from Aether Systems where he was a Senior Software Engineer and a lead engineer responsible for the design and development of mobile/wireless enterprise applications. Previously, Mr. Thorn was with Honeywell International where he played a vital role in developing software used by the U.S. Navy and NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. Mr. Thorn has also served as a graduate level teaching assistant at Johns Hopkins' Applied Physics Laboratory in the field of Algorithm Design and Analysis.

Jeff has an M.S. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Lehigh University.

Octave Technology was founded in 2002 to focus on developing business process and technology-based solutions using AIDC (automatic identification & data collection) technologies, including RFID, bar coding and contact memory.
