Announces New President Ellicott City, MD - February 28, 2005 - Octave Technology, Inc. has made a key executive appointment in order to strengthen the company’s progression with RFID & Auto-ID software development by naming Octave's Senior Vice President of Operations & IT, Mr. Rick Morani, as the firm’s new President. "We are investing substantially in our product development efforts, partnerships, consulting business and R&D. The company now requires a new management approach in order to achieve the desired market presence and Rick has the energy, vision and desire to make Octave a great success," said Mr. Mark Baldwin, Octave's prior President. Mr. Baldwin is the President of Baldwin Technologies and Clean Fuel Management, Inc., while also a majority investor in Octave Technology. Mr. Baldwin will now be charged with building a Federal practice and managing the company’s overall sales and marketing plan as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Mr. Baldwin will continue working closely with other corporations to enhance joint business prospects and to build Octave’s national re-seller program. In his new role, Morani will manage and lead the company’s operations, finances and technology direction, capitalizing on over twenty years of business consulting, systems development and information technology management experience. Mr. Morani is no novice to entrepreneurial ventures and running a business, as he is also the founder and owner of HMG Technologies, Inc., a Mid-Atlantic technology consultancy in operation since 1997. Mr. Morani will be working with the Octave Technology team, partner firms and customers to continue to accelerate plans for growth and establishing Octave’s market position. "Given the growing interest in RFID and Auto-ID technologies, our client and partner roster, and our software capabilities, Octave is poised for rapid growth," Morani says. "We are very excited about 2005 and beyond."
