Octave's knowledgeable staff is expert in various functional areas and technologies, ensuring that its customers receive sound advisory services along with the technology solution that best meets their AutoID requirements. Octave Technology's solutions are comprised of two primary
components: 1) a data collection device (small electronic
identification and data storage devices designed to be
permanently attached to physical assets to identify and
retain information specific to those objects and their
contents - barcodes, contact memory tags, RFID tags); 2) a
software application (running on a mobile device, desktop or
laptop) to manage and access asset data and generate
reports.
Octave's versatile handheld solution (using the iPaq from HP) can help manage information simply and securely from a variety of locations. The Octave mobile solution puts powerful technology directly into the hands of the workforce in the field, data center, and repair depot. All information, once collected, can be easily downloaded to a spreadsheet or database, and shared with your organization across the Internet or network. Octave eliminates technology platform dependencies and maximizes previous and current technology investments. Octave Technology is the newest entrant into the growing field of AIDC. It is estimated that the specific field of Radio Frequency ID (RFID) will reach $7B on its own by 2005, and the rest of the AIDC industry continues to grow as well through such innovations as smart packaging and conductive inks.
