Airbee Wireless and Octave Technology
Announce Partnership ROCKVILLE, Md., Sept. 25, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Airbee Wireless (Pink Sheets:ABEW) today announced that it has executed a partnership with Octave Technology of Ellicott City, Md. to provide a complete software solution for the wireless sensor networking market. This teaming will simplify the time-to-market engineering for integrators and OEMs to deploy wireless mesh sensor networks through the use of embedded ZigBee software from Airbee and Octave's application software which handles the data management and delivery gap between sensor networks and a company's existing IT infrastructure
Developing a ZigBee solution is much more complicated than putting all of the pieces together. To ensure successful ZigBee implementation, it is imperative to rely on partners who have the knowledge of the architecture, capability of assessing design options at the chip and module levels and evaluating numerous practical issues identifiable to applications. Airbee has developed embedded ZigBee software technology. The Airbee-ZNS stack has been certified by the ZigBee Alliance to the 1.0 specification. Airbee is currently working other platforms such TI's MSP430 and has the ability to develop applications on both multi-vendor and single vendor platform solutions. Octave's software platform, OCTAVEX™, is designed retrieve wireless sensor data regardless of hardware or network protocol and deliver it to an existing enterprise system or application such as asset management, work order ticketing, control or ERP applications allowing users to realize the full ROI potential of a wireless sensor deployment. "Airbee's wireless mesh networking solutions integrated with Octave technology provides compelling value for deploying large-scale wireless sensor networks," said Raj Sundaresan, CEO of Airbee. "This partnership opens the door for OEM manufacturers, integrators and large end-users to quickly deploy and commission turnkey wireless sensor networks with immediate returns." "OCTAVEX™ is designed to bridge the gap between sensor networks and a company's existing IT infrastructure," said Rick Morani, Founder and President of Octave. "Having a plug-in module from Airbee's ZNMS(tm) and ZNMS Lite(tm) Network Management Systems into the OCTAVEX™ framework will complete the data flow from sensor point through to an existing system. Airbee's embedded platform handles the network configuration and management, while our software handles the data management and delivery. It's an opportunity for both organizations to offer a comprehensive solution." The two companies will participate in joint marketing efforts and mutually seek opportunities within the OEM market where sensor product companies are looking utilize a ZigBee or ZigBee-based solutions for low power mesh sensor networks.
